We suggest keepng yor grass at 2 1/2 to 3 inches. Many people prefer the shorter look, and that’s ok in the spring when temperatures are cooler and water is more abundant, but as the heat sets in ( typically june – aug ) leaving your grass longer requires less water, promotes stronger roots, and will allow for a thicker healthier lawn.

A healthy lawn will reduce weed prioblems as well. As our season changes to fall and the mow season winds down, we’ll lower our mowers to leave a short lawn for winter. This promotes a good start in the spring as your lawn comes out of it’s dormant state.
